I personally love the idea of (un?)healthy competition, as long as it stays classy/witty/subtle. You're better than your competitor? Why not advertise it?

Similar to rap feuds and celebrity roasts, it's popular, it works, and it usually brings attention to both parties, and in most examples: attention = profit.

A similar notion kinda happened in crypto before where you'd get rewards based on your XYZ onchain activity, or could mint a free NFT in exchange of another IF it was from a rugged project.

Using other project's failures or successes to the benefit of the consumer is something I'm really looking forward to! Generally seeing projects interact with each other in a way that utilizes the blockchain just makes the whole thing more fun too imo!

Thanks for another engaging article TPan!

Agreed, I think there is an opportunity especially in the current advertising/marketing environment, it's hard to execute though especially with so many topics having split opinions these days.

It does feel like web3/crypto is a more neutral ground for testing these new/renewed types of marketing, especially since vampire attacking can be more deterministic than it used to be.

I see what you're saying. The web3 landscape and especially what "works" also changes at an amazing rate it's hard to create a strategy that isn't outdated after a few months (at best).
