Hey TPan,

very reminiscent of the first version of NFTX 2021,

Now there is already version 3 of the protocol, but in essence, it is very similar to ERC 404

Yes, but now it's native functionality within the token standard itself!

It's important to point out that it's not an official new standard yet as it hasn't gone through an EIP yet.

Quit also wrote a nice thread a few hours ago where he points out the following problems:

- high gas on transfers due to bloated code

- endless token Id can cause problems at high volumes

Here's the post: https://x.com/0xQuit/status/1754853866120835239?s=20

Personally I'm very curious to see where this goes, I love the added liquidity and potential use cases that can grow from this!

Yup, agreed on the points and Quit's thread was great! Noting that this would probably never be an EIP.

because of the number? :P

My problem with these is that I keep thinking of 404 errors and webpages that are not found. Its a reaction rooted in a permanent distrust of that number now. So great standard ... unfortunate name.

Agreed! I was thinking of doing some wordplay or meme on '404', but figured the concept was already confusing enough haha
