Hey TPan,

airdrop may be like messaging between wallets, and any message has a unique utility/price

and this focuses on audiences

That's interesting -- opening/reading messaging as the requirement to be eligible, while it being more targeted with the wallet providing more insight to the user. I imagine AI could assist with that too 👀

Airdrops might not last, I suspect they might come in waves? There's bound to be some fatigue at some point.

The reading of wallets as a marketing tool however is here to stay for sure

I think airdrops will always be around, but agree with the waves. They seem to follow market cycles, particular when there's positive momentum/bull markets since the effects are compounded.

Yes to reading of wallets!

great summary Tpan!

I also think its worth noting why protocols run airdrops: its either 1) exit liquidity for their VCs, or 2) a way to draw in new users. sometimes its both!

good luck with your farming :)

Agreed with the reasons for airdrops. I'd say the most benevolent and 3rd reason would be to create new ownership/empowerment paradigm with allowing the network/users have a say (governance).

That said, the first two reasons are the dominant top reasons :)
